A letter from Lucy
I've always believed that children look best in clothing that's sophisticated but never precious, fun but never cutesy.Having been born and raised in England, and now having lived in New York and worked as a fashion editor for many years, I love a look that is decidedly European with an American flair. I adore crisp Liberty prints, soft English colors, uptown elegance, downtown cool, and preppy, sweet Hamptons-inspired chic. I'm constantly inspired by runway and street fashion, and by all the glamorous yummy mummies and little girls I know.
This Fall, my first delivery is based on the idea of hippie-chic with a sporty edge. It's very much 'English girl in the city.' It's full of rich purples and blues, art-nouveau prints and beautiful, chunky sweaters. The second delivery was based on a trip I took to the Irish countryside. I fell for thistle colors, fairisle knits, autumn flowers, and the feeling of playing in the lush, green Irish fields. It's definitely a relaxed but put-together feeling. The third delivery is all about a hip and groovy Chelsea girl. Striped shift dresses, and luxe velvets and tartans for holiday give holiday a fresh new, grown-up feeling.
I hope you'll enjoy the collection as much as I do, and welcome you to contact us with any questions and thoughts. It's all of you who inspire me most!
Love,
Lucy
